Fall 2017 Rule Changes Thursday In-House
Please read these important rule changes regarding makeup matches for the Thursday In-House league. We understand that this league has long sessions and circumstances arise that may require teams to miss a week of play. This is the reason we have always allowed makeup matches to be played. On the other hand, the past sessions have seen the majority of the makeup matches being pushed to the final week. The problem with this practice is the team and player stats become increasingly meaningless as the session progresses due to unplayed matches. With this in mind, we are implementing the following rules regarding makeup matches:
- Makeup matches must be played within two weeks of the scheduled date of play in order to count towards player and team rankings.
- Matches not played within this time frame may still be made up, but will count towards individual payouts only. The wins will not count towards team and player rankings.
- Matches played prior to the scheduled date will count towards team and player rankings. Provided you know your team is going to miss a week, we strongly encourage making the match up ahead of time to avoid the risk of not making the two week limit.
Tips to Improve League Play
- Be prepared when it is time for your match. Take smoke, bathroom and drink breaks while your teammates are playing.
- Show up a few minutes early to prepare scoresheets and settle in. Be ready to start play right at 7pm.
- Time outs are allowed, just try to keep them reasonable in length.
- The new Thursday In-House format will be fun as long as we all work to keep the time frame reasonable.
