APA Leagues

The Wreck Room Saloon is proud to support APA leagues at our location.  The unique APA handicap system provides an excellent opportunity for new players while still providing a challenging experience for advanced players.  The APA offers both eight and nine ball formats and even provides players the opportunity to play both formats in the same night. APA leagues are divided into three sessions per year with division playoffs at the end of each session.  Winning teams are awarded plaques for each person on the team and an entry into the city championships where they will compete for a chance to travel to Las Vegas and play in the National Team Championships held in August of each year.  Winners of the Fall and Summer sessions will also be invited to play in a money added Mile High City Championships tournament.  All active APA members are also eligible to play in Singles qualifiers held at various times throughout the year.  Winners of the qualifiers will advance to regional play and winners from regional play advance to the National Singles Championships held late April and early May each year in Las Vegas.  As you can see, the APA offers players a lot of competition and events.  The APA offers a number of other opportunities for players to compete and earn chances to compete in Las Vegas.  Check our APA Tournaments page often to make sure you don't miss any opportunity.

A small side note: One of the most common myths you will hear is that APA is not a "money league".  The APA does not pay players back on a per session basis like many other leagues.  Instead, the APA takes a different approach and pushes the prize money to the national level.  While this approach makes winning the money more difficult, it also makes the APA National Championship events the highest paying of any league.  In addition, qualified players and teams receive some prize money to help cover costs of travleing to the National Championship events.  Basically, the APA takes a higher risk equals higher reward approach, but it is not true to claim they are not a "money league".  Just something to keep in mind when choosing a league that is right for you.
